Charleston Wine & Food Festival Mixology Competition

The Charleston Wine & Food Festival is entering its 10th year in the Lowcountry. This year’s festivities are sure to impress as the creative team has already begun to make preparations; starting with the Mixology competition. CWFF has challenged Charleston area Mixologist to craft a cocktail that captures the monumental ten year anniversary of the weeklong event. To breed inspiration, mixologist extraordinaire, Charlotte Voisey treated us to lunch and cocktails at Brasserie Gigi’s on the Market. The seafood cassoulet and apple tart were paired with two delicious Hendrick’s Gin cocktail that were anything but ordinary. The signature cocktail was served in a tin cup with a bright neon straw which continued the ten year anniversary theme (neon is the 10th element on the periodic table and a gift of tin is customary on one’s 10 year wedding anniversary.

Great drink!!! Made it for the office for Drink Fridays. Couldn’t find graepfruit bitters, used tequila silver instead of vodka, and used agave nectar instead of honey. Great recipe! Everyone in the office enjoys it.
