Oculto Launch Party at Republic Reign

Posted: March 16, 2015 by Infamously Johnny

During Charleston Wine and Food, we had the pleasure of tasting the Mexican Beer, Oculto, which is a “tequila” beer, made with blue agave and blended with beer aged with wood from tequila barrels. It doesn’t contain the actual spirit tequila, but it is a beer that contains 6% alcohol. And we like high beer percentages!

It’s a bottle with a really cool drawing of the famous skull that represents the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead. The word “Oculto” means “hidden” and each bottle is supposed to contain a secret message. That night I didn’t even think to search for a message when I drank mine, but there will be a next time! 🙂

This beer is aimed to at the younger spirit consumers who have began to enjoy spirits like tequila and rum… (ie the Cocktail Bandits) and we know why. The beer is great!! It’s light, crisp and refreshing. We are so glad that Republic Reign host such a great beer even for Charleston Wine and Food Festival!
