Natural Hair Empowerment Symposium

Welcome to the International African American Museum’s inaugural IAAM My Hair: Natural Hair Empowerment Symposium, a safe space to discuss the stigmas, stereotypes, and self-identification issues that come with being a member of the natural hair movement. Moderators will ask a series of thought-provoking and culturally relevant questions to a panel of executives, entrepreneurs, and academics who all subscribe to the natural hair lifestyle.
PANELS

The #IAAMMyHair panels will cover topics that deal with social and emotional aspects of being an active member of the natural hair movement. Specific topics include:

Aligning cultural identity with corporate expectations

The importance of loving one’s natural self

Creating a business by embracing your strengths

The #IAAMMyHair Empowerment Symposium will feature speakers who will discuss their personal experiences on their journey of living a natural lifestyle.
