CHSFW10 – Gwynn’s VIP tent

VIP1

Every night of #CHSFW10 included a stop by the Gwynn’s VIP tent. Our good friends at Momentum PR worked the room all week. Those ladies made sure all the Charleston fashion lovers were comfortable and enjoying the festivities.

The only tent with food featured crabcakes and shrimp salsa from Lowcountry Bistro, 82 Queen and Swig & Swine. Dj Big Hair played lots of reggae music as fashion lovers enjoyed the open bar’s selection of Vodka, Bourbon and Champagne.

At the rear of the room hung a large screen where the runway show would be displayed. Great option for someone who wants to enjoy the party but isn’t that big into the fashions.

Skirt! is legal!!

We had an amazing time at The Restoration on King for Skirt! Magazine’s 21st birthday! That’s right, Skirt has been bringing women amazing and empowering stories about women for many awesome years and they showed their love and appreciation last night with unlimited champagne, delicious desserts from Bad Bitches Charleston, and amazing music by DJ Natty Heavy on the rooftop of the Restoration. It’s always so inspiring to see such fabulous women celebrating together. Happy Birthday Skirt!!! Here’s to many many more years of celebrating us women!

Oktoberfest Charleston

With October only days away it is only right that we discuss Oktoberfest and all of it’s glory beer, brats, lederhosen, and stein hoisting, did we mention beer?

Well despite the grand fest being called Oktoberfest we were lucky to attend one that was held only a few weeks ago at the Visitor’s Center, and man oh man was it a party.  Samuel Adam’s Oktoberfest came to Charleston and took no prisoners. When we first arrived we were ID and let into the marvelous world of Sam Adams.  Upon entering we received our VIP Packages that included free beer tasting tickets, a  cute orange mug with the Sam Adams Logo in bold white letters as well as a ticket for a free full mug of beer. Sam Adams was the star of the show for sure but with local restaurants from Bay St Biergarten to Bohemian Bull we were overloaded on pretzels, and brats even brats wrapped in pretzels!

OKTOBER

From the time we arrived to the time we left full of beer, brats, and no regrets we truly were prepped for Fall season to arrive. A special thanks to Sam Adams as well as A Snappy event for sending us on this amazing adventure.

Sweet & Sensual Pop-up

Some say dancing is the language of love, well salsa dance instructor Georgia Schrubbe of Baila Conmiga is fluent in sensuality. Others say food is the key to a lover’s soul, then pastry Chef Danetra Richardson of Swank Desserts creates treats that will empassion the mind, body and soul.

The pair’s Sweet & Sensual Pop-up featured delicious macaroons and close dance steps. We loved seeing a room full of women spinning and twirling around in a room scented by powdered sugar.

Punchy Afternoon

Summer Punch course at Cocktail Club Charleston

There’s no better time for sharing an ice-filled punch bowl than summertime. The mixologists at The Cocktail Club Charleston displayed their extensive collection of punch bowls during an afternoon punch making course. We watched as the bartenders prepared Pimms Punch and Watermelon Sangria.

Mixologist Ryan Welliver informed us that the name “sangria” comes from the Spanish word for bloodletting due to the dark-red color of the beverage. We snacked on fresh popcorn and goat cheese and watermelon salsa bruschetta. Try making your own custom punch bowl at home this summer. Remember this simple rule of thumb – 1 part strong (vodka), 1 part weak (st. germain liqueur), 1 part sour (citrus juice) and 1 part sweet (fruit juice) – and you are sure to impress your brunch guests!
