The Charleston Brews Cruise was one for the books. The owner, and our tour guide Brent Horner showed us 3 breweries in our beautiful city of Ch

arleston, South Carolina.  We had the pleasure of going to Westbrook, Coast, and Holy City Brewery.

Westbrook Brewery is located in Mount Plesant and is a beautiful place. There we tried 4 different beers. The White Thai was my favorite of the four because of the light lemon grass flavor. We even had the pleasure of trying a barrel aged beer called Mexican Cake. The Mexican Cake came out last month and has already sold out for the entire year so we were very excited about being able to taste it. Westbrook is a gorgeous brewery and should definitely be checked out.

Coast is located in North Charleston  and has more of a neighborhood feel to it. They had picnic tables and a food truck so people could have a slice of pizza with their beer. The Kolsh beer is their most popular, and the reason is obvious because it was my favorite as well. We learned a little about the history of beer when we met the co owner Jamie. She has been responsible for the change of a lot of beer laws in SC. It was really an inspiration to meet her. Coast has great vibes, cool people, and delicious beer.

Last, but certainly not least, we went to Holy City Brewery.  Holy City is probably the most popular brewery here, tucked away in North Charleston. They have a huge assortment of beers on draft, and also have the picnic tables for everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather outside.  Their dark beer selection seems to be the favorite amongst the customers. I thought that all three beers we tried were delicious. Holy City is the largest retail beer company in Charleston.

The Charleston Brews Cruise was educational, fun, and definitely #cocktailbanditapproved! We were all friends when we got off the tour bus. Brent is very knowledgeable about craft beer and makes the tour interesting and interactive. If you’re ever in Charleston and love beer, you should check it out. You won’t regret it and you will leave feeling great!
